Dear Parents,

Traditionally, at the beginning of each year, teachers display a wish list in the entry way or near their classrooms. Last year, all of the lower school teachers decided to combine their wish list into one request for a shade canopy for the lower school playground. In the beginning, the wish was for a shade canopy to cover the entire playground area, but after research to determine the cost, it was realized that a smaller shade over a portion of the area would be sufficient and more easily funded.

Bids were received for the shade canopy with the lowest bid coming from The PlayWell Group at $23,790.00 for the shade and $12,400 for the installation, making it a total of $36, 190.

The Galloway School PTO donated a large portion of their fundraising monies for a total of $22,000.00 toward the purchase of the playground shade canopy. We are in need of an additional $14,190 to bring the shade canopy project to fruition.

If you are willing and able to donate monies toward meeting this goal, please forward your contributions to Kristin Anderson, the Business Manager. She will accumulate all funds until the goal is reached. I have ongoing communication with The PlayWell Group to keep them apprised of the funding status for this project.
